Image metadata remover
Remove private information such as GPS location, dates, camera details and editing tags. Your photos are processed locally without being sent to UtiliTools Pro.
How it works
- Select one or more JPG, PNG or WebP images.
- Choose PNG to preserve decoded pixels or JPG/WebP to reduce file size.
- Process the images and download them individually or as a ZIP archive.
Frequently asked questions
What information does it remove?
The tool re-encodes image pixels without copying the original EXIF, IPTC, XMP or GPS metadata. The new file may contain minimal technical information added by your browser.
Can it remove signs of AI editing?
It can remove software or editing tags stored as metadata, but cannot guarantee removal of invisible watermarks, statistical fingerprints, verifiable provenance or information embedded in pixels. It cannot certify that an image was not edited with AI.
Will image quality be affected?
PNG preserves decoded pixels without lossy compression. JPG and WebP may change slightly after recompression. Color profiles, stored orientation and animation may also change.
Are photos uploaded?
No. Conversion happens in your browser. Files are downloaded directly to your device.
Does it preserve the original file?
Yes. A new image is generated, and the original remains unchanged on your device.
Important: removing metadata does not prove a photo is original or authentic. Keep the source image if you need to establish provenance. Do not use this tool to misrepresent authorship.
